Ryan Tso, Class of '21, graduated with a B.A in Communications Studies with a Concentration in Public Relations and a minor in music from the State University of New York at New Paltz. I have worked as a sales associate at the Buck County Running Company, the Communications Chair of the Student Athlete Advisory Council at my university, interned at my university's Athletics Department in the Office of Athletic Communications, and was an acting Resident Assistant in the university's dorm for student-athletes.
I currently work at Local Wisdom assigned as the Field Communications Specialist for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine's Therapy Area of Pulmonary Hypertension & Retina Gene Therapies. Some notable skills from my current job include: Assistance with the creation and distribution of Field Distribution Memos and timely news that are published on Johnson and Johnson's Intranet site, HOME, which goes into a weekly newsletter I create. I also work on a quarterly newsletter for the head of the Sales Organization that reflects organizational culture and achievements, as well as prevalent initiatives and events that are upcoming or members of the org have taken part of. I was also been able to expand my role on a 6 month stretch assignment for Oncology from June to December 2022 , performing much of the same duties while further refining my skills.
Another major part of my job is SharePoint Website creation and management where I created and managed a site for my respective communications team to access as a document repository, but also have key resources to have quick access to at any time. I also brought this to the Sales Organization and worked with J&J IT to create a "one stop shop" type SharePoint site so employees could easily access key resources, org links, news, FAQ, and onboarding documents while they are out in the field. I have since expanded this project to create a full network of similar websites for all Field Facing Organizations in my current role.
Finally, I am actively tasked with updating and managing Distribution lists for Field Based personnel for pertinent communication distribution, create posts on Yammer to highlight key field personnel, field events, and drive organizational interaction and engagement, and retrieve metrics from social media posts, websites, and newsletters to bring to the comms team for analysis and active reformulation of the communications plan for the therapy area with the aid of SalesForce Marketing Cloud.
